This week, Kate Middleton, married to Prince William, surprised a reporter by showing how down-to-earth she was. It showed that the monarchy is in “perfect hands”

Matthew Syed, a journalist, said he took his young son Ted to the Commonwealth Games on Tuesday. He told a sweet story about meeting the future queen by accident.

The reporter said he heard the young man talking to a woman while he was in the toilet on the first class train to Birmingham.

He also said, “judging by the laughs, they’re having a good time”

Mr Syed said as he left the bathroom he thanked the woman before realizing it was the woman who would become Queen Consort.

He also said that when he asked his son later if he knew who it was, the boy said he didn’t, but that she was “really nice”.

In an article in The Times, Syed wrote: “The Duchess had no idea she was chatting with a journalist’s son, so I take it to reflect her character and her sense of duty. The monarchy is between good hands.

This week, Prince William, Kate Middleton and Princess Charlotte traveled to the Olympics for a full day of sport.
