Genshin Impact is one of the most popular recent titles in the gaming industry, and part of that success is likely due to the game’s extensive roster of memorable characters. Typically, all of the characters in Genshin Impact has one of the seven elements of the game: Pyro, Cryo, Electro, Dendro, Geo, Anemo and Hydro. However, a player recently encountered a visual issue that assigned all seven items to a single character.
Ningguang is a playable Geo character in Genshin Impact who serves as Tianquan of Liyue Qixing, a committee of merchants and business owners who govern the Liyue area. She has gathered her fair share of fans with her otherworldly beauty, surprisingly warm heart, and important role in the game’s main storyline.
Reddit user bittersoup07 shared a short video of his Ningguang in the character select screen. As usual, her character model strikes a classy pose while examining the weapon she is equipped with. However, in this image, Ningguang is surrounded by a storm of element-themed background animations. The geo characters are usually depicted with small orange rocks floating around them and the sound of the earth cracking, but the ningguang of bittersoup07- seems to be accompanied by the signs of the seven elements.
While the details can be difficult to fathom, especially since the Dendro Element has yet to be properly implemented for any character, Ningguang appears to have extended his Elemental Mastery to the Seven Elements. Water droplets, snowflakes, dancing sparks, bursts of static electricity, drifting flower petals and much more can be seen swirling around her. The effect can be a bit crowded, making it difficult to tell exactly what’s going on in the background, but it does add an aura of majesty to this royal figure.
At the time of writing, it appears that others Genshin Impact fans appreciate the effect this issue had on Ningguang. Several users immediately said that Ningguang should be the new protagonist, as the Traveler has already been established as the primary individual capable of using multiple items. One user went so far as to compare Ningguang to the Avatar of Avatar: The Last Airbender, while a second user said she is now a secret six-star character. Another group discussed how this glitch looked like a Christmas patch, while another group expressed hope that this background would be reused when the Traveler finally mastered the Seven Elements. One user also said it was proof that Ningguang, a notoriously wealthy figure, was a whale.
Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4 and PS5. A Switch version is under development.
